KANGER FIVE6 REVIEW – 6’S & 7’S

This past year, Kangertech has been silent amidst a torrent of releases from its competitors seeking to push the boundaries in designing and manufacturing the latest new mods with the most features. And while most of these features were always a nice addition, most of them never really had any impact on the actual vaping experience. Kangertech is changing all of that right now with the release of their newest, most innovative, and most ambitious mod to date: the Kanger Five6, a monstrous behemoth that holds five (5!) 18650 batteries yet only goes up to 222 watts of power? So where’s all the innovation at?

Kanger Five6 Review: Breakdown

Build Quality

Before diving down into the usual details of the device, let’s find out what makes it such an innovative mod. The Kanger Five6 tank supports coil heads which contain three parallel coils in a 0.6-ohm configuration. Kanger engineered a tank that has its own chip that allows you to manually and individually select which of these three coils fire.

You can fire it in single coil mode, double coil mode, or even triple coil mode to fully unleash the full potential of the device. To new vapers, this might not seem like a big deal, but to those who know their devices, this is a one of a kind feature pioneered by Kangertech that just might change vaping technology in the years to come. What’s so important about this feature is it actually affects the quality of the vape in a direct way, unlike other innovations such as a pedometer, or customisable LED lights which have no real bearing on the actual vapor quality.

Before we get into the details of this feature let’s discuss the basics of the Five6 first. It’s a massive device that needs 5 18650 batteries. And that’s 5 fresh batteries, you cant simply borrow a pair from a dual battery mod such as the Smok Alien and three batteries from an Eleaf Tria. That simply isn’t safe. A 6 bay charger also becomes a necessity, as not only is it inconvenient to charge the 5 batteries across multiple chargers, but its also unsafe.

The mod measures out to 94mm * 40mm * 57mm, and while this is quite large, it’s not as big as you’d expect a 5 battery device to be, almost matching Wismec’s RX300 (which holds 4 batteries) in terms of dimensions. The Five6 fires up to 222 watts which is also surprisingly tame given the mods battery capacity, but I can see that Kangertech is deviating from the trend of developing devices that output more power, and instead focusing on how that power is used.

The Five 6 is mainly constructed from plastic with a zinc alloy shell thanks to the battery sled being the biggest component. This is also an agreeable and welcome design choice to help keep the weight of the device down, and while the Kanger Five6  looks and feels sturdy, if you’re getting this mod for its premium feel, you’d be getting it for all the wrong reasons.

The Five 6 features a full-sized female USB port which lets the mod double as a power bank out of the box. Simply press the button located next to the device to instantly switch the device over to power bank mode. A nice contrast to other devices that need accessories that have to be purchased separately in order to use said functions.

Vapor Quality

Whether vaping in single, double, or triple coil mode, let’s get this out of the way: The tank on the Kanger Five6 vapes phenomenally and is probably one of the best tanks to come with a kit in the longest time. It holds up to a massive 8mls of liquid so you’ll almost never have to refill on the go, and features an easy to open swivel top cap for easy refilling.

Flavor when vaping is intense producing thick clouds even using just the single coil mode. Using the dual, or triple coil mode kicks up the intensity and density of the clouds and flavor even more while never making it to overbearing thanks to the wide airflow options the tank offers.

Selecting how many and which coils you want to use is an easy affair. The base of the tank houses three plastic switches with a corresponding LED light. Flicking on the switch activates the coil on that side of the tank which is indicated by the LED. Using this you can choose which coils you want to vape on easily, on the fly.

It’s a truly innovative and one of a kind feature at this point, useful in instances where you can easily adjust the type of vaping experience you get. It’s also a great option for preserving coil life in the long run as you can simply turn off a coil that’s getting bad, then switch over to a new one.

The kit comes with a regular glass cylinder for the tank as well as a special heat sensitive glass that changes color as you use the mod. The tank has an enormous diameter of 29mm with room to spare on top of the device, meaning it’s possible to fit even bigger atomizers should you desire it. The threading found on the 510 pin is smooth making it a breeze to thread the tank onto the device itself.

Versatility

The Kanger Five6 is a class apart from the rest. Having said that, it should be mentioned that it doesn’t support temperature control, but honestly speaking that really isn’t the point of getting this device.

Coil selection is where it’s at for this mod, and hopefully, we get to see this feature in future devices to come.

The massive atomizer compatibility paired with the 5 battery configuration ensures that you can run any custom build no matter how big or unpractical on this thing and have reliable battery life throughout the day.

Portability

It’s needless to say at this point that this isn’t the device to get if you’re looking to get something small and stealthy. The Kanger Five6 is big, proud, and isn’t afraid of that. It will definitely not fit in most pockets.

That isn’t to say that it’s a loser in terms of portability. It’s actually a great option for taking on long trips.

I envision it as the perfect outdoor camping vape thanks to its battery life that can potentially go for up to 4-5 days before needing a recharge, and with its easy to use power bank feature, also stands as an asset to other mobile devices when on the go.

Conclusion

The Kanger Five6 is a positive step in the right direction that vape tech needs to be heading in, and it’s great to see a company like Kangertech spearheading the innovation. While this is most likely not the right mod to get for beginners (unless you’re very adventurous), the Five6 stands at the pinnacle of vaping technology and with its ingenious design and great implementation of its features, cements itself as a must buy for vapers who know what’s what. Just be prepared to shell out equal amounts of cash for the batteries and charger that you’ll need.

Joyetech Batpack Review – The Bat Vape?

For those who currently vape and are reading this, I think it’s pretty safe to say that most if not all of us are pretty attached to our vapes. We take them practically everywhere, from the inside the house, to work, to the beach, the list just goes on. But what happens when we have to tread international borders via plane? Airline regulations concerning electronic cigarettes and the batteries they use are pretty strict, and even when followed to a T, won’t guarantee a hassle-free experience at the airport. With its unique use of AA batteries, that is why mods like the Joyetech Batpack exist.
Let’s check out the full details of the device down below and see why it just might be the perfect device for your needs.

Review: Joyetech Batpack

Joyetech Batpack Review
Manufacturing Quality

Encased in a sturdy yet compact alloy chassis, the Joyetech Batpack thrives in its simplicity. Looking like a miniature version of a modern piece of luggage, the Joyetech Batpack manages to look great despite its simplistic unicolor design.

The front and back panels sport ribbed/textured grooves which are handy in improving the ergonomics of the device, not to mention adds a touch of rugged flair, which is almost symbolic for an electronic cigarette of this design.

When I mentioned that the Joyetech Batpack embodies the symbol of sturdiness, that’s a quality that proves itself not just through the quality of the materials used in making the mod, but also due to the core design. Thanks to the Joyetech Batpack’s use of AA batteries instead of the standard high voltage and high amp lithium ion cells, the mod is a lot safer to use compared to your standard vaping device.

Lithium-ion batteries are pretty volatile in comparison and are the cause of 99% of vaping related accidents and injuries. While most of these accidents are due to user error, and no matter how careful most vapers can be, the occasional mishap does occur. The use of AA NiMH batteries takes the danger out of the equation, resulting in a much safer to use device.

Joyetech Batpack Available colors

The back panel acts as the battery door which is magnetically held in place. The standard 510 connection up top accommodates atomizers with diameters up to 16mm which can be limiting if you’re the type to mix and match atomizers to suit your vaping style.

The Joyetech Batpack vapes straight like a mechanical mod so you won’t be seeing any fancy nicknacks such as an LED display or up/down buttons to adjust settings or wattage. The singular fire button on the side of the mod is quality though and offers a crisp click when pressed.

Focus On www.ave40.com For More Vape Kits.

Flavor Quality

Despite my reservations about the overall flavor quality that the Joyetech Batpack was predicted to produce, it managed to surprise me slightly with a decent show of flavor production. It’s important to keep our expectations in check though.

In no way is the Joyetech Batpack going to compete with standard lithium-ion based vaping devices; it simply can output enough current from the low amperage AA batteries being used.

Due to its low output, the kit comes bundled with an appropriate ECO D16 atomizer which is designed for mouth to lung vaping. Also, take note that the kit is designed to be used with high concentration e-liquids in order to get a proper kick out of it.

The airflow on the ECO D16 tank is fixed so you won’t be able to make any adjustments, but from my experience with testing the mod, the airflow felt just about right with a sufficient amount of restrictiveness, without feeling too choked. As always though, your mileage may vary.

Power Flexibility

There isn’t much in this regard where the Joyetech Batpack shines. The included 0.5ohm coil heads do help in maximizing the current drawn from the AA a bit, but if you’re thinking that this device will vape anywhere close to the level of variable wattage devices, think again.

Think of the classic cartomizer vape pens of old and you’ll get a good approximate of what the Joyetech Batpack  can do (i.e: not much)

Joyetech Batpack flat display

Ease of Use

Simple and straightforward is the best way to describe the basic operation of the Joyetech Batpack. Without any LED screen, extra buttons, or fancy schmancy UI to get the hang of, getting the hang of using the Joyetech Batpack is as easy as it comes.

Despite its mechanical-like design, the Joyetech Batpack does make use of a mosfet to help regulate the power and also acts as an on and off mechanism. 5 clicks on the firing button turn the device on or off, just like most electronic cigarettes.

The included Joye ECO D16 tank holds up to a maximum of 2ml of e-liquid which can be considered more than enough for a mouth to lung style atomizer. One caveat though is Joyetech skimped slightly on the filling mechanism used for this tank. Instead of the almost standard push/slide mechanism, the ECO D16 uses a threadable top cap that needs to be twisted off whenever you need to refill the tank. It’s not a deal breaker by any means, but a better job could’ve been done in this regard.

Portability

One of the greatest strengths of the Joyetech Batpack is surely its battery life. Thanks to the extremely low output used, it’s not uncommon to get more than a day’s worth of use out of it before the batteries need a recharge.

With the Joyetech Batpack being compatible with both rechargeable NiMH and standard store bought batteries, the compatibility alone can be a godsend when travelling via air where bringing your batteries along can prove to be a nuisance.

The Joyetech Batpack gives you the option of leaving your batteries at home and just buying a pair at your destination for hassle-free travelling.

Joyetech Batpack back side

Overall Experience

While I can’t vouch 100% for the performance of the Joyetech Batpack, it definitely has its merits. The low output definitely isn’t for everyone, and can hardly be considered a daily driver for those who’ve already grown accustomed to the performance of more powerful box mods.

Lexicon by Eleaf – with this light you will be the most fashionable at the party

News from Eleaf is such a phenomenon that it is simply impossible to miss – you just do not have time. Yes, the manufacturer is one of the most active players in the market and regularly pleases a large army of its fans with new products. Sometimes not very adequate offers are obtained, but more often – these are sales hits. As for the hero of this review, I’m not sure. Let’s try to draw conclusions about Lexicontogether .
Lexicon by eleaf
As it is easy to guess, the manufacturer considers the design of the novelty its main advantage. I would say a little bit wrong – this is her most controversial moment. In short, it seems to me that the guys decided to release the first truly “Chinese” box. At least, the screaming appearance suggests precisely the thought of some no name brand with big ambitions and a complete lack of taste.
Lexicon by eleaf
Dimensions :

Height – 81 mm.
Width – 45 mm.
Thickness – 31 mm.
Weight – 167 g
Lexicon by eleaf
I just don’t like it. Some kind of rectangle with controls scattered in all corners, also with super illumination. By the way. If you could not find a box with enough light for you, then take Lexicon – here it just will not seem to anyone enough. As promised in the description, the color and mode of the LED panels can be customized. The overall effect is enhanced by wild color options. In short, boxing is definitely not for me. But the taste and color, as you know, all the markers are different 🙂
Lexicon by eleaf
Specifications :

Well, what can I tell you about this board? If there are differences from its predecessors, it is quite insignificant. There is everything that has long been a necessary minimum even in the case of budget chips. By the way, a separate reason for pride with the manufacturer is the minimum threshold of resistance at 0.05 ohm. For me personally, this is not very important, but we know that there are enough lovers of adrenaline among users of the boards.
Lexicon by eleaf
About some unusual features in the description of the speech is not. We can mention the setting of the backlight, but this is already a feature of the box itself. All this miracle works from a bundle of two 18650 batteries. It will be interesting to see how all this “light music” will affect autonomy. Fortunately, there is a micro usb, through which you can easily recharge the box. There is also a firmware update, but for a long time I haven’t seen information from Eleaf about such nishtyaks as new software.

– adjustable power range – from 1 to 235W;
– adjustable voltage range – 0.5 to 8V;

CoilArt Mage RTA V2 – very interesting to try

For a long time, the CoilArt company did not shine on our portal, apparently they were preparing something interesting. So it happened. Twenty months after the release of Mage RTA, the manufacturer decided to make a second version of the device. I can not say how popular this tank was at that time, but it was made according to all the “canons” and trends of the time, therefore it was convenient, and probably good.

Naturally, the novelty also absorbed all the most modern and advanced solutions, with the result that it turned out pretty decent.

So, meet the second generation – CoilArt Mage RTA V2 .
CoilArt Mage RTA V2 - very interesting to try ...
Case material: stainless steel Atomizer
type: RTA
Capacity: 3.5ml / 5.5ml
Diameter: 24mm
Height: 46mm with Drip type
Connector: 510, pin gold-plated
Weight: unknown
Color: black, steel, black with inserts for copper
CoilArt Mage RTA V2 - very interesting to try ...
Components (estimated)
– Mage RTA V2
– spare bubble glass
– screwdriver key
– spare oring
– spare screws
– manual user

Buck is pretty good-looking – a decent design has almost always been the “calling card” of the manufacturer. The tank turned out to be neat, not overloaded with elements, but on the contrary, some kind of “light”, simple and simultaneously attractive look. Over the entire height of the atomizer, three “rings” are scattered pleasantly contrasting with the main body color. Dimensions, by the way, are very modest. In general, the exterior, for me, the top five.
CoilArt Mage RTA V2 - very interesting to try ...
Drip type 810th, made of Delrin. At the base there is a metal ring that “participates” in the creation of the face-respectable image of the tank. About the others, going in the kit, there is no information. Top cap has a nice ribbing that will help when unscrewing it, and it just looks good. Holes for refueling explore opportunities not presented.
CoilArt Mage RTA V2 - very interesting to try ...
The capacity is not the largest, however, complete glass without a “set” of height will increase the volume to 5.5 ml. The dome probably has a taste of internal processing, which in conjunction with a short mine should provide a decent taste transfer.
CoilArt Mage RTA V2 - very interesting to try ...
The deck is fully gilded. Does she remind you of anything? And if you look at it – Vandy Vape Kylin Mini RTA . With the only difference that the VV tank is designed for one helix.
CoilArt Mage RTA V2 - very interesting to try ...
So, we have a deckless deck. The holes for the legs of the helix are decent, but the fixation is incorrect, most likely, the construction did not allow to do otherwise.
CoilArt Mage RTA V2 - very interesting to try ...
Well, now the airflow is just a colander, which consists of 29 holes of 1 mm in diameter each. In general, the idea, of course, is “test”, although it is not new. It turns out that the spiral will be blown both from the bottom and from the side at an angle – one more plus to the piggy bank of taste transfer.
CoilArt Mage RTA V2 - very interesting to try ...
I think it’s not worth counting on serious taste when using one helix.
CoilArt Mage RTA V2 - very interesting to try ...
The holes for laying cotton wool are small, it’s good that they have a stop, and they will not fall under the thread when winding the dome.
CoilArt Mage RTA V2 - very interesting to try ...
The adjustment of the blower takes place with the help of a rotary ring with a pleasant groove. As I understand it, there are three air intake holes, they have an interesting shape, and their dimensions are 2 x 10 mm.
CoilArt Mage RTA V2 - very interesting to try ...
Pin is gilded and stands out enough.
CoilArt Mage RTA V2 - very interesting to try ...

CoilArt Mage RTA V2 - very interesting to try ...
Advantages / disadvantages
+ design
+ equipment
+ price
+ dimensions
+ taste transfer (much likely)
+ comfortable deck

iTaste Kroma & SlipStream – Innokin

iTaste Kroma has all features available for this end of year 2016 with smart but particular design

In 2016, Innokin revisited its offer and declined its Cool Fire in with interesting models like the Cool Fire IV TC 18 650 that I am using every day, the Smartbox, a direct concurrent of the iStick by Eleaf.

As usual, iTaste Kroma keeps the features of the Cool Fire with, especially, the control of temperature and the excellent chipset Aethon 75 W. A power that is far enough for the public it is directed to and an endearing design for a compact box with a battery of 2 000 mAh.

The kit includes a brand new atomizer, SlipStream, whose name evokes the wake of an object in motion. It comes in replacement of the iSub V that I found excellent with a very good rendering of flavors. Innokin proposes in this new kit two types of resistance coils: a kanthal 0.8 Ω and a SS316L 0.5 Ω that will allow you to vape with the temperature control.

The object by itself is achieved and its screen located on a side displays all the essential informations. The usability is excellent and the grip perfect, it fits well in the palm of your hand.

Kroma embarks a built-in and non-removable battery. Note that this version is equipped with a USB plug that can be used to charge the electronic box. The commercial target is therefore the vapers who are seeking simplicity of use.

A pretty box and that comes with a new atomizer, SlipStream

This is an important information because some of you may be looking for new hardware in replacement of ageing devices. On the picture, for example, you can see the iTaste Kroma built with on of my preferred atomizers, Taifun GTIII. Innokin’s offer is a complete solution to vape in simplicity with the new atomizer SlipStream. It also includes an adaptor that allows mounting any other type of atomizer.

The finish is good for this price range, Innokin proposes now a much better quality of materials. For the Kroma, as for the last products, Innokin brings particular attention to the finish, associating soft plastic and painted aluminium.

This awesome finish contributes to its grip and confers a much pleasant touch than untreated metal. My white version is stylish with a thin orange trim that reinforces its elegant line.

Handling is good thanks to a small bump on the opposite side of the Fire. The dimensions of the box make it more suitable for small hands. I wasn’t used to such small boxes and it was disturbing to see it disappear in my hand. This said, most of the vapers around me prefer small hardware, even if they are forced to recharge more often.

The Fire switch logically finds its place on the flat side and is wide enough to easily fall under my fingers. The use of this switch is soft and emits a small plastic noise when pressed.

Particular care was taken to integrate the setting buttons on the frame. Located at the bottom, on the side, these two buttons are very classical and do not jingle at all.

To remain in the positive aspects of this box, the OLED screen and its display are kept small on the side, protected behind a smoked plastic screen that reduces brightness.

  • 100% Stainless steel
  • Adjustable airflow
  • Spare drip-tip
  • No Spill Coil Swap System

Innokin’s seriousness, chipset Aethon 75 W, simplified temperature control, Auto-calibration features, SlipStream less convincing that its predecessor

The chipset is similar to its predecessors, more specifically the Cool Fire TC 18 650. The calibration of the coil, a mandatory operation to enable temperature control, is automated and this is a good thing.

The operation in repeated each time the atomizer is changed or filled with juice. If you use the same resistance coil, you will just press the Fire switch to accept after the scree displays “Same”. This confirms that the resistance is identical and the auto-calibration procedure is skipped.

In power mode, the settings are also easy. Press and hold the buttons + or – to get access to the settings. To switch to other modes, just click on + and you will see Ni, Ti or SS. Finally simple and intuitive!

If you are left-handed like me and you want to reverse the display, press and hold + and -. The operation is clearly described in the user manual.

With a width of 23 mm and the adaptor included, you are able to use any current type of clearomizer without degrading the line of the iTaste Kroma. The line is perfect with the SlipStream that fits inside the body of the box. An adaptor is mandatory if your atomizer is larger than 22 mm. The little window that is supposed to visualize the level of juice in the atomizer is sometimes not well adjusted with the SlipStream, with a bar just in the middle of this window.

The SlipStream uses the same system as Cubis by Joyetech, same usability but also the same default

The SlipStream copies the Cubis by Joyetech with its usability thanks to a resistance attached to the top cap. Unscrewing the top cap permits to remove the ensemble and to fill the tank easily. Unfortunately, it also shares the same inconvenient. It is regrettable because the iSub, also a top-filling atomizer, was not having this inconvenient.

This system has two major disadvantages: Overflow and agglutination. You should never fill the tank over the two windows. One more drop and the liquid will flow over when screwing the top cap.

After a refill, the first puffs will create agglutination in the chimney. This phenomenon is recurrent and disappears with time but appears again, sometimes several times per day.

I noticed that this phenomenon is prevalent with the Kanthal coil and less marked with the SS316L one,  when temperature control in enabled. It is also less dampen at higher power, but I don’t like it because of higher e-vapor temperature.

SlipStream is not as efficient as the iSub Vand it is a pity because this kit will loose one star because of this choice. But remind of the adaptor and the possibility that it provides to accept all types of atomizer.

iTaste Kroma auto-calibrates the coils when the temperature control is enabled

The user manual specifies:

  • You must select the correct coil type.
  • For accurate calibration the coil must be at room temperature, the e-liquids should be room temperature as well.

Big assets for the iTaste Kroma, but a bitter aftertaste because of the poor performance of the SlipStream with Kanthal coils. In turn, with temperature control enabled and a SS316L coil, agglutination fades away very quickly and vaping becomes really satisfying after two or three puffs.

Once the new vertical coil hits its stride, its functioning us secure. My observation over the last weeks if that such new resistance coils are working well, sometimes too well, and exploiting the full capabilities of your Kroma will create high volume of vapor and an incredible noise. Up to you to dominate this beast.

In summary

The “+”:

  • Innokin’s design more and more appealing
  • Battery endurance and compatible with fast recharge
  • New Aethon chipset, performant and precise
  • Good value for money
  • Usable size and shape
  • Grip and pleasant coating
  • Easy tank re-fill
  • Intuitive and user-friendly settings for temperature and calibration
  • Right/left handed mode

The “-“:

  • SlipStream too noisy
  • Non-remplaçable batteries
  • Fire switch a bit noisy
  • Screen not readable
  • Brightness not adjustable
  • Agglutination after each re-fill
  • Vapor too hot
  • Autonomy of 2 ml, too small compared to e-juice consumption

Conclusions

The box is smartly designed but this not yet the case of the SlipStream. I acknowledge Innokin for making efforts on design, usability and also for the quality of its chipset Aethon 75 that keeps its promisses.

Aspire Nautilus X Review

The vape market is full of high-powered sub-ohm devices that chuck huge clouds. Usually, there is nothing wrong with cloud chasing. However, it does seem like vape makers forgot all about the people who enjoy tight, mouth-to-lung draws. which is quite sad since they do represent a good chunk of the vaping consumers. Then, enter the Aspire Nautilus X.

A few MTL tanks did come out in the past couple of years. However, the one that clearly stood out was the original Aspire Nautilus. Recently, Aspire gave their popular MTL tank an upgrade. As a result, they rebranded it as the Nautilus X. The only question now is does the Aspire Nautilus X deliver on its promises? Is it really better than the OG Nautilus? Will it dethrone its older brother? Continue reading to find out.

What’s in the Box?

When you open the packaging, you will get:

  • The Aspire Nautilus X tank, with a pre-installed 1.5-ohm coil head
  • A spare 1.5-ohm U-tech coil head
  • A spare glass tank
  • A Small Instruction Manual

It would have been better if Aspire added some spare O-rings in the package. However, since it did not come with extras, you need to be very careful when assembling the tank. Therefore, you need to make sure that you don’t pinch or rip the O-rings.

At First Glance…

aspire nautilus xLet’s first take a look at the tank itself. The Aspire Nautilus X is quite a stout little tank. The diameter of the tank is 22mm, which means it can easily fit in any mod, even ones like theiStick Pico. The Nautilus X also has quite a low profile; it is just 45mm tall, which is actually smaller than most 22mm RDAs.

The tank has four main pieces. You will get the top cap with the built-in drip tip and airflow control ring, the glass tube, the U-tech coil head. It will also serves as the chimney. This is in addition to the base of the atomizer. Speaking of the base, the Nautilus X screws into a standard 510 connection. Also, it has a gold plated 510 pin that is slightly protruding. The 510 pin does protrude a bit, but not enough that you can safely use it on hybrid top caps.

The tank capacity is not that large, as you would expect from a 22mm tank. In fact, it can only hold around 2ml of e-liquid (in compliance with TPD regulations). However, since the Nautilus X is an MTL atomizer, that amount of juice will last you quite a long time. It’s true that the Nautilus X only has a three-piece construction. However, the beefy O-ring at the base can actually hold the glass tank firmly in place when you screw the top cap off.

A Closer Look at the U-tech Coil Head

Now, let’s take a look at the U-tech coils. They rate coil heads that come with the tank at 1.5 ohms. This is pretty high for vapers who like to use sub-ohm coils. However, since they made the Nautilus X for mouth to lung hits, it does not need that much power. High ohms also mean the coil heads do not need that much power to produce vapor. In fact, you only need to set your mod to 18 watts for a comfortably warm vape.

The Nautilus coils have a distinct U-shaped chamber, which is kind of a unique design. First, the air goes inside the top airflow holes near the drip tip. Then, it goes down the side chamber of the coil head, goes into the inner chamber. Finally, it goes out the chimney. This airflow design allows the air to hit the Kanthal coils twice before it goes out of the drip tip.

How Does the Aspire Nautilus X Perform?

Sure, the Nautilus X is primarily for MTL draw, with the airflow fully open. However, you can still get a good direct lung hit, albeit being very restricted. You can further tighten the draw by twisting the AFC about half-way. This way, you will get a more intense flavor and warmth. Of course, it is if you’re using the Nautilus for its intended purpose.

The Nautilus X comes apart quite easily for cleaning. When you disassemble the tank, you will get a few things. First, it is the top cap with the built in top airflow control and the proprietary drip tip. Then, the glass tube held in place by a beefy O-ring, the pre-installed coil head, and the base of the atomizer.

To fill up the tank, you just need to unscrew the top cap, and then pour the e-liquid down the sides of the glass tube. Be careful not to get any liquid inside the coil head itself. To replace the coil head, you just need to disassemble the tank. Then, carefully pop off the glass tank, and then unscrew and replace the coil head.

Just like the Cleito, the drip tip of the Nautilus X does not come off. On the other hand, it does come with a plastic sleeve that will keep the drip tip relatively cool.

What’s Great About the Tank and What’s Not-so-great?
Pros
  • Sleek and compact design. Even though the Nautilus X is a tank, it is actually shorter than most RDAs.
  • The U-tech coil head can handle thick e-liquids thanks to its large juice ports.
  • The Nautilus X provides just the right amount of restrictiveness.
  • The beefy O-ring holds the glass tank firmly in place.
  • The design of the coil head virtually guarantees that the tank will not leak ever.
Cons
  • You cannot use your own 510 drip tip.
  • When you go beyond 20 watts, the drip tip gets uncomfortably hot.
  • The small airflow control ring can be quite fidgety and hard to twist.
Is It Worth the Price?

The Aspire Nautilus X is unlike most of the other sub-ohm tanks available these days. It does not chuck insane amounts of vapor but that is not its intended purpose anyway. The Nautilus X is a mouth-to-lung device. This means, it aims to mimic the same kind of experience that people used to get from taking a drag from a cigarette. Therefore, in that regard, this tank atomizer performs beautifully.

Are you looking for a good mouth to lung tank atomizer that performs like a champ? Then, the Aspire Nautilus X is the perfect choice for you. This is despite not having that many bells and whistles. Actually, today is your lucky day because we found the best deal online for the Aspire Nautilus X right here.
